Here’s how you can edit or view Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides inside of your Airtable base using On2Air Amplify

How to Edit and View Google Drive Files

  • First, install the On2Air Amplify app into your Airtable base from the Airtable Marketplace.

  • Add a URL Field for your Google Doc URL

  • Add a Block View for Google Doc Editor in On2Air Amplify

  • Click on Fullscreen to have a better view of the settings

  • Inside the settings, setup the following:
    • Google Doc ID/URL Field - Select the field containing the URL or ID of the Google Doc to display
    • Static URL (optional)
    • Google Doc Type - Select the type of Google Doc to Display. Typically Auto Detect will work great but, you have option to select your specific file type
    • Save Field - Select the Attachments field where you want to export and save your document to
    • Attachment Save Mode - Select whether to "Append" new imports to end of existing attachments, or to "Override" any existing attachments, or "Prepend" to front of existing attachments
  • Click Done

  • Now you will be able to see the actual document in Google Docs. You can edit anything in the document while you’re inside your Airtable base. This is also great for Sheets and Slides.

  • To open an new tab or in Google Docs, click on the Open a New Tab Button

  • To Download the file, click on the Download Button and you will have the option to choose what format it will be downloaded to:
    • PDF
    • HTML
    • MS Word
    • Text

  • To save the Document, click on Import Attachment

  • Select the File name & File Format
  • Click on Import

  • Lastly, you have the option to click Preview mode is you do not want to edit anything
